Child Care
Haldimand Norfolk REACH provides programs for children ranging from infancy to 12 years of age. Our licensed early learning and care programs provide families with quality care and opportunities to grow in stimulating and nurturing environments. Care is offered during the day and before or after school.
The program is regulated by the Ministry of Education and adheres to the regulations of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014. This Act sets standards for the early learning and care program, including;
- the qualifications of the employees that provide care for your child
- the ratio of caregivers to children, and
- health and safety considerations.
Programs are guided by evidence informed practices and documents including Early Learning for Every Child Today, How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years, and Think, Feel Act: Lessons from Research about Young Children.
Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System
In 2022, the Canada wide Early Learning and Child Care funding was introduced to support the licensed childcare system.
The Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system:
- helps lower childcare fees for parents of children under the age of six.
- increase childcare spaces across the province.
- supports the childcare workforce.
- supports inclusive childcare.
We have been approved to participate in the new system to support families financially in licensed childcare.
