Stephanie Anderson, Chair

Stephanie Anderson, President

Stephanie obtained her Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources from Brock University and began her career with the Human Resources Department of Six Nations Elected Council as the Employee Relations Officer.  Stephanie is now the Executive Lead at Community Living Six Nations Ronatahskats.

Stephanie is Iroquois from the Six Nations Territory and is a Cayuga Wolf Clan.  She resides on the reserve with her husband and four children ages 11, 9, 4 and 1.

Stephanie is passionate about the work that comes out of H-N REACH.  Her extensive knowledge in developmental services and First Nations perspective is a welcome addition to the H-N REACH Board of Directors.

Stephanie Slaman, Vice President

Stephanie joined the Board of Directors in September 2014 and is thrilled to be an active part of H-N REACH in this capacity. Stephanie was born and raised in Brantford but now lives in Waterford with her husband and two children. She works as the Teacher Consultant for Autism with the Grand Erie District School Board and is passionate about special education, student engagement, and ensuring success for all children in the classroom. In her spare time Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, camping, exploring the outdoors, and reading.

Anika Solomon, Co-Vice Chair

Anika Solomon

Anika is employed as a Child and Youth Worker with the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board where she advocates for appropriate mental health supports for children and youth.  Anika has a history of working with children, youth and their families in a variety of setting including the education system, private organization and not-for-profit sector.  Anika prides herself on the ability to provide each individual with excellent counselling, case management and emotional support.  She strongly believes in advocating on behalf of children, youth and their families in order to assist them in obtaining their goals. 

Anika is a CIS gendered woman of Afro-Caribbean descent, pronouns she/her.  She emigrated to Canada as a child and grew up in downtown Toronto.  She is married with two children and recently moved to Caledonia. 

Anika believes in the importance of keeping skills current and regularly attends professional development to seek our new information to advance her learning.  Her approach to lifelong learning is a welcome addition to the H-N REACH Board of Directors.

Lisa Wallace, Secretary/Treasurer

Lisa Wallace, Secretary/Treasurer

Lisa is currently the Information Technology Manager for the Kitchener Public Library. Lisa has extensive experience in the IT healthcare field and has worked on numerous committees and teams to provide input, support and leadership.

Lisa has lived in Courtland since 1997 with her husband Brent and 3 children: Ryan, Abby and Collin. She loves being active and spending time with her family, camping, playing sports and planning day trips. She also helps out with school functions and other fundraising events.

Lisa is an avid beach volleyball player and has been playing in London on a recreational team for 20 years.

Lisa believes REACH has a very strong presence in the community and her hope is to learn and gain a better understanding of the needs of the community through her involvement on the Board of Directors. She likes being part of an organization whose mission is to make a difference in the lives of individuals, adults, children and families.

Spencer Holmes

Spencer obtained his BA in Human Rights and Human Diversity from Wilfrid Laurier University and focused on Human Resources by completing a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Conestoga College. Spencer has worked in Human Resources in variety of sectors including Great Lakes Shipping, Long Term Care, and most recently Municipal Government.

Early in his career, a mentor explained to that it is key to understand how something works is to make recommendations on change. He has applied this to a philosophy of lifelong learning in both his professional and personal life. To be an effective agent of change, one must take an interest in understanding the benefits and challenges of a process to encourage stakeholders committed to implementing a change. 

Spencer sees the opportunity to be a Board Member with H-N REACH as an opportunity to become more involved in the community and be a part of an organization that promotes support for families in Haldimand and Norfolk. 

Jeff Lefler

Jeff Lefler

Jeff is a small business owner, and franchise consultant. Jeff grew up in Waterford, attending St. Bernard’s grade school. He went to Assumption College in Brantford and then attended the University of Western Ontario in the Bachelors of Medical Science Program. He moved back to town in 2010 to be closer to family. He loves this area and decided he wanted to take an active role in the community. He feels a connection with the goals and objectives of H-N REACH and wants to contribute in a positive way.

Jeff has volunteered previously with the Haldimand Norfolk Canadian Mental Health Association and Brantford General Hospital.

Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and relaxing on vacation whenever possible.

Reese McMillan

Reese is Head of Risk Assessment for DS Consultants, an engineering firm, where she manages a portfolio of human health and ecological risk assessments as well as other environmental engineering projects related to contaminated soil, groundwater and sediment. Reese obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Toronto, followed by a graduate certificate in Environmental Engineering from Conestoga College. 

Reese and her family live in Caledonia. She has been an active volunteer in several organizations including as a mentor at the University of Toronto and as the current Brownfields Committee Co-chair for the Ontario Environment Industry Association. Reese is a lifelong learner with a passion for reading as much as possible. She is thrilled to contribute to the community through H-N REACH and believes strongly in its vision and values. 

Mark Smith

Mark Smith, Member at Large

Mark began his career in insurance sales and financial advising in 2013 as an Associate Financial Advisor.  He has since advanced as the owner and operator of The Co-operators – Mark Smith Financial Services Inc. in Simcoe, Ontario.  Mark is always looking to advance and learn new things through personal interests and projects.  Mark has a drive to learn and improve his skills as a life learner. 

Mark is a married father of three beautiful daughters.  He is active in the community and appreciates family time.  He organizes hockey and ball hockey and enjoys scuba diving.  Mark is not afraid to chase his dreams, like becoming a certified scuba diving instructor.    

Mark hopes to grow personally through knowledge and skills as an H-N REACH Board Member, contributing to the cause of an organization he believes in and takes pride in giving back to the community that he belongs to.

Interested in Joining Our Board?

Haldimand-Norfolk R.E.A.C.H. is a dynamic, rural, multi-service, charitable, community-based, and inclusive organization servicing the counties of Haldimand and Norfolk.  It values and promotes the social and emotional well-being of children, families and adults in the community.  

The Board of Directors is comprised of 10 directors as well as community representatives, who are eligible to become Board Members in the event of a vacancy on the Board.  

A Board Member's role is to:

  • Attend and actively participate in Board meetings (one meeting per month, on the fourth Wednesday of every month), committees and task forces
  • Represent the best interests of the community by following the mission and vision of the Agency
  • Participate in special events and Agency functions, both as a representative of the community and to provide support for the Agency
  • Assist in the development of new and current Board Members by offering your acquired skills and life experiences to the Board 

Many skills can be gained or improved through your participation on the Board, such as:

  • Consensus decision making
  • Successful meeting facilitation
  • Administrative skills
  • Non-profit organizational governance
  • Financial accountability

Based on the Carver Model of Board Governance, the Board develops long-range and strategic directions for the Agency.  If you are a "big picture" thinker and want to make a difference, contact us for an application package.
