Youth Justice Programs (Mandated)

When youth come into conflict with the law, REACH can help them make restitution for their actions while getting the life skills and counselling support that they need to make positive choices, now and in the future.
If an offence is of a less serious nature, we offer youth programs that divert them from using the formal court system. Youth will receive support from staff who will work with them to develop a plan to make reparation for their action or crime.

Youth with mental health issues can be supported while they go through the justice system. Staff will help them to develop a plan for addressing their needs. The plan can be presented to the courts as a request for diversion from the formal court system.

Youth may also have the opportunity to be a part of a youth justice committee, using restorative justice to bring victims and offenders together to resolve issues.

The Youth Support Program is provided to youth when they have a Probation Order that outlines a counselling component. Our staff work with youth and their Probation Officers to ensure that the requirements of their order are met.
