School’s Cool is a learning readiness program for preschool children, developed in 1998 by SIRCH Consulting, Haliburton. Schools Cool introduces children ages 3-5 years to a rich variety of new and exciting experiences. School's Cool instructors are trained to focus on children's strengths and competencies and to cultivate an eagerness to learn in those children participating in the program. The program helps to familiarize children with Kindergarten routines and expectations and is offered in the summer months of July and August for three half-days a week. Is there a cost for this program? There is no cost for this program. CAPC is sponsored by Haldimand-Norfolk REACH. The Public Health Agency of Canada, in agreement with the Province of Ontario, provides funding for CAPC. How do I access or learn more about this program? Parents refer their own children to the program. For more information, or to have your child placed on the interest list, please call REACH and ask for the School's Cool Program Leader at ext. 411. **Children are not guaranteed enrolment in the program until confirmed by the School’s Cool team. |
